Mrs. Addie Ruth Ackiss Boyett, 87, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her home.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm EST Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. with Johnnie May Conaway officiating. A private interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 pm EST, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Boyett was born October 7, 1937 in Meriwether County, GA daughter of the late Howard Ivee Ackiss and Viola Whitley Ackiss. She retired from Civil Service at Ft. Benning with over 37 years of service. Mrs. Boyett lived for many years on the river, where she enjoyed watching the sunrise and the boats come by. She also enjoyed being on the river in her pontoon boat. Her other hobbies included reading, camping and caring for her flowers. Mrs. Boyett felt a strong connection with God through her Bible Study and listening to Southern Gospel. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Boyett and a sister, Bobbie Jean Hart.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherri Boyett Faulkner of Smiths Station, AL and Cindy Boyett Kesler of Phenix City, AL; one son, Ronnie Boyett of Dothan, AL; six grandchildren, Marisa Faulkner, Brandon “BJ” Kesler, Ryan Kesler, Madison Patel (Sarj), Brock Boyett and Brett Butler (Alyse); eight great-grandchildren, Kaylee Cerean, Mekenzie Kesler, Kenzley Pipps, Brinley Kesler, Sagel Patel, Phoenix Patel, Brook-Lynn Kesler, Summit Patel and Cullen Butler; several extended family and friends.
