Alice “Joyce” Donahue

Alice Joyce Donahue, 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 peacefully with her family at her side. She was born on September 8, 1934 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Aubrey and Johnnie George. Joyce was a full-time minister’s wife for 44 years and worked as a bookkeeper from time to time during their ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Aubrey William Donahue and her brother, Robert F. George.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, A. Cheryl Connell and her husband Michael; three grandchildren, Stacey Merilic(Sean), Jessica Bauer(Christian), and Stephanie Lang(Tyler); and two+ great grandchildren, Kathryn Merilic and Carolyn Lang (and little Mary due in May).

We want to thank all the people at Riverside Hospice. They have been an amazing support to the family and ministered in a multitude of ways to Joyce in the final weeks and days.

We take great joy in knowing Mama has been made whole and is now singing with the Host in the Heavenlies, sharing her wonderful God given voice. We know she is praising her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and walking on streets of pure gold.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia.
