Allen "Big AL" Wray

Allen “Big AL” Eugene Wray, 12, of Phenix City, AL was taken to heaven on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM (EST) on Monday April 06, 2026, at Church on the Rock, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Donnie Lumpkin officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:30 AM until the funeral hour at the church.

Allen or “Big AL” as he was known by his family and friends was a young man who enjoyed life to its fullest. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan and loved the fall and game day. Allen was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Spending as much time as possible in the woods or on the bank of the river. He attended school at Russel County Middle School. “Big AL” was also a vital part of the Russell County Youth Football team where he played an offensive lineman. The Russell County Youth Football and Cheer Junior Warriors are retiring his jersey # 55 in his memory.

He was taken from us far sooner than anyone ever expected. We will have our good days and our bad days, but we will never have a day that he is not remembered in our hearts. Fly high with the angels “Big Al” till we meet again.

Survivors include his parents, Christopher “Chris” and Rose Sutton Wray, Phenix City, AL; sister, Ann Martin and brother, Christopher Wray, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Curtis and Tina Sutton; paternal grandparents, Mark Wray, Mary Teal and Teresa Wray; aunt, Ashley McGee; uncles, David and Travis Sutton (Nichole), Uncle Ryan and Marc Wray; cousins, Ricky Sutton, Kyler Pierce, Abigail Sutton, Lyssa Arrington, Kathrine Dunn, Natalee Dunn, Ka'leila Wray and Danika Sutton; numerous other family members, school mates and friends.
