Alvie Lloyd Jones, 75, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday afternoon, May 14, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon EDT on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon EDT at the funeral home in Phenix City. Serving as pallbearers are Joe Ledford, Leyton Brooks, Jim Crowe, Scott Conkle, and Blake Reese.
Mr. Jones was born May 10, 1948, in Phenix City, AL and was the son of the late William Lloyd Jones and Carrie Mae Johnson Jones. He had served as Senior Vice President for Kissel Mortgage Lending for many years and was retired and was honored to be the top producer. He was a member of Phenix City, and the Columbus Board of Realtors, and a member of the Phenix City and Columbus Home Builders Association. Mr. Jones was member of Phenix City Moose Lodge for over 35 years, where he earned his Fellowship degree. He was a committee member for the Columbus Under Development Housing Program and was responsible for getting one million in funds to the Phenix City Under Development Housing Program. He was very proud of his many accomplishments; at the young age of 15, he earned his students’ pilots license, and at the young age of 19 he was a graduate of all courses offered by Dale Carnegie; he held office as a trustee for Young Council of Realtor’s. He was a certified VA/FHA Real Estate appraiser and underwriter; and for many years he was also proud to be the top loan producer for Phenix City, AL, and Columbus, GA areas. He was a member of first Baptist Church in Columbus, GA.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death a brother, Larry Tyron Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine “Jo” Gammell Jones; one daughter, Allison Jones; son, Michael Jones, two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Albright, and Kate Ledford and husband Joe; five grandchildren, Brionna Thomas and husband Kelvin Thomas, Jr., Jake Albright, Anna Albright, Luke Wagner, and Avery Wagner; and several precious great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, his Moose family, and many caring friends.
