Arlie Marie Alcott

Arlie Foss Alcott, 94, formerly of Columbus, GA, where she lived for over forty years, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at her home in Seale, AL.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm EST, on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Chaplain Daniel Mitchell officiating. A private interment will follow at Ft. Benning Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:30 until 4:00 pm, before the service. 

Mrs. Alcott was born January 27, 1924 in Eau Claire, WI, daughter of the late Walter Foss and Ada Ash Foss.  She retired as a Librarian from Kendrick High School with over 20 years of service.  Mrs. Alcott was a member of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) and a former member of First Baptist Church in Columbus, GA.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roland Alcott and a sister, Ester Deilke.

She is survived by one daughter, Arlie Verville and husband Robert of Seale, AL; two sons, Waldemar J. Alcott and wife Tina of Jacksonville, FL and Paul H. Alcott and wife Katherine of Dadeville, AL; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several extended family members.
