Aubrey L. Tolson

Mr. Aubrey L. Tolson, 88, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Robb Goodman officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm (EST), one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Tolson was born April 12, 1937, in Russell County, AL, son of the late Aubrey Wood Tolson and Eula Wright Tolson. He, along with his wife owned and operated Tolson Plumbing for over 41 years. Mr. Tolson enjoyed golf and playing with his friends. Above all, his passion was spending time with his family. He was Baptist by faith and was a former member of the Phenix City Serenity Group.

Other than his parents, Mr. Tolson was preceded in death by his wife, Berma Waldrep Tolson; a son, David Ray Tolson; and two brothers, Charles and Jerry Tolson.

He is survived by a daughter: Susan Norton of Phenix City, AL; a bonus son, Richard Norton of Ft. Payne, AL; a grandchild, Katie Sue Russell and husband Darrell of Salem, AL; a great-grandson, Remington “Colt” Russell; extended family and numerous friends, who were like family.
