Audrey Lee Howze Weedon, 85, of Selma, AL, and formally of Phenix City, AL passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Selma, AL.
Ms. Weedon was born January 14, 1938 in Clanton, AL, daughter of the late Clyde Thomas Howze and Dorothy Mae Jones Howze. She was a homemaker and a lady of great character who was devoted to her family. She loved playing bingo, shopping, QVC, traveling, visiting Biloxi, and cooking. She was a Pentecostal by faith.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, SSG (Ret) James “Bobby” Weedon, a sister, Clara Mae McCormick, and her brother, Harold Thomas Howze.
She is survived by her daughter, Veronica “Ronnie” Weedon of Phenix City, her son, James Russell “Rusty” Weedon and wife Wendy of Selma, AL, three grandchildren, Lauren Weedon, Peyton Weedon, and Devin Pierson, sisters-in-law, Sylvia Howze, and Dorothy Powers, numerous other loving family members, and many caring friends.
A private Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date by her loving family according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City. A private interment will take place at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, SSG (Ret) James “Bobby” Weedon.
