Barbara Lee Gauthier

Barbara Lee Gauthier, 79, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 4, 2023, at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
Ms. Gauthier was born April 1, 1944, in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Leonard Blackston and Mattie Bell Watson Blackston. She was employed with AT&T for 48 loyal years serving as a switchman and was retired. In her earlier years, she was a certified boat captain, enjoyed scuba diving, and loved the water. She enjoyed watching Newsmax and Fox News, gardening, and was fascinated by science. She was a Christian by faith.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard Blackston and Alton Blackston.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Edwards; son, Keith Edwards; one sister, Sandra Martin and three grandchildren, Darby Edwards, Jaran Edwards, and Grace Edwards; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date by her loving family.
