Bernice Mildred Thompson

Bernice Mildred Baker Thompson, 94, of Columbus, GA passed away Wednesday May 16, 2018 at River Towne Center in Columbus, GA.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm EST on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Stephen Brinkman officiating.

Mrs. Thompson was born March 25, 1924 in Ecru, MS, daughter of the late Avery Baker and Mozella Cummings Baker.  She worked as a seamstress in the textile industry for most of her career.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Robert Thomas Thompson and three brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Kay Curtis and husband Wayne of Montgomery, AL and Charlotte Freeman and husband Mark of Columbus, GA;  two sons, Robert T. Thompson, Jr. and wife Jackie of Opelika, AL and Jeffery A. Thompson and wife Diane of Ft. Mitchell, AL; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and another one soon to be born; many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
