Mrs. Betty Joyce Travieso

Betty Joyce Smith Travieso, 74, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Highway 431N Phenix City, AL, with Rev. Mark McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Mrs. Travieso was born in Hamilton, GA, the daughter of the late James Thomas Smith and Ruby Murphy Melton. She loved all aspects of The Bible and she was associated with the Assembly of God churches. Mrs. Travieso enjoyed cooking, fishing and joy riding. Above all, she loved her family and made them her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Travieso was preceded in death by three brothers Franklin Smith, Charles Smith and Douglas Smith.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Alberto Travieso; one daughter Brenda Kirpatrick of Columbus, GA; three sons Michael Travieso, Eddie Travieso and Joseph Travieso, all of Phenix City, AL; three grandchildren Keith Jackson (Autumn) of Smiths Station, AL, Tiffany Enfinger (James) of Columbus, GA and Dylan Pangle of Columbus, GA and four great grandchildren.
