Bobby Ray Wilkerson

Bobby Ray Wilkerson, 70, of Salem, AL, passed away on August 21, 2025. A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm EST on Monday, August 25, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL 36867 followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm EST officiated by Pastor Shon Bryan. Services will conclude with a committal service at Lakeview Cemetery.

Bobby Wilkerson was born on October 24, 1954, to the late Arthur Bell Wilkerson and Lanie Carolyn Wilkerson in Troy, Alabama as the youngest of seven children. He grew up in Helican, Al in his family home. Bobby was raised in the country and often called his childhood “The good old days”. After graduating from high school, he became a construction worker until retirement. He was a proud member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed his time with the organization. He sang specials and was a deacon at Golden Acres Baptist Church until 2011. Bobby loved to sing and loved life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf and cards, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. His world revolved around his children and grandchildren. Bobby was a great friend and even better father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Bobby Wilkerson is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Bell Wilkerson and Lanie Carolyn Wilkerson Devine; brothers, Tommy Wilkerson, Samuel Wilkerson, and George Wilkerson; and brother-in-law, Pete Hattaway.

Bobby is survived by his daughters, Amanda Williams (Ken), and Valerie Haynes (Scott); son, Matthew Wilkerson (Vicky); sisters, Sarah Vance (Robert), and Louise Hattaway; brother, John Wilkerson (Hope); grandchildren, Cameron Williams, Madison Mixon, Zachary Wilkerson (Tuesday), Alex Haynes, Hayven Meeks, Tanner Wilkerson, Deaven McCardle, and Scottie Hope Wilkerson; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Wilkerson and Corrie McCardle.
