Carlton Horace Davis, Sr.

Carlton Horace Davis, Sr., of Crawford, AL passed away unexpectedly from an auto accident Saturday afternoon on April 20, 2024.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am EDT on Friday morning, April 26, 2024, at Crawford Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Hawkins officiating.  Visitation will be held for family and friends Thursday evening, April 25, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City.  

Mr. Davis was born November 20, 1958, in Columbus, GA, he was the son of Shirley Autry Whitten and the late Harold Davis.  He was the owner/operator of Elite Drywall serving the surrounding area and community with 40 plus years of committed installations and repairs.  He took great pride in representing his company and skill set.  Mr. Davis enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard, and he was known for being plain passionate about hard work and his work habits.  He enjoyed watching football and was a huge Auburn fan.  He loved spending time with his family and having the opportunity to do many things.   He cherished the simple opportunities that life offered.  He will always be loved, but never forgotten.  

Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Lynn Davis, and a brother, Richard Autry.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Whitten; son, Carlton Horace “CJ” Davis, Jr. and fiancé, Kayla Pevehouse; mother of his children, and the love of his life, Shelia Faye Davis Alexander; sister, Linda Despain; two brothers, Jerry Backman and wife Kathy, and Dewaine Backman and wife Renee; one precious grandchild, Annabelle Pevehouse; several nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and a host of friends.
