Cecelia E. Murray Duncan, 73, of Valley, AL died peacefully while at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.

A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:00 AM (EST) on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Columbus, GA. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Duncan was born January 16, 1952, in Frankfurt, Germany, daughter of the late John Murray and Christine Kramer Murray. She had retired from Radio Shack after many committed years of service as a manager. Mrs. Duncan was a practicing Catholic worshiping at Holy Family Catholic Church, Columbus, GA. She was also a member of the paranormal group, Bi-City Paranormal Research.

Mrs. Duncan was an artist who enjoyed painting and crafting. These skills were often used to create various things to celebrate her favorite time of year, fall and Halloween. Mrs. Duncan also loved to cook, so she often hosted family and friends. She was also a “mom” to anyone who needed or wanted her to love on them as a mother does. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and watching the circle of life represented in her garden.

She will be missed in our daily routine, but she has left so many fond memories for us to cherish in our hearts.

Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Christine Murray and her husband, James Thomas Duncan, Sr.

Survivors include her two sons, David White (Julia), Maryland and James T. Duncan, Jr., AL; three daughters, Mary Ann White Zang (Scott), TX, Randi Tate and Evely Duncan, AL; one sister, Mary Ann Murray; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one more on the way and soon to arrive, the first great-great-grandchild; a very special niece, Erin Mason (John) and other family members and friends.
