Mr. Cecil C. Robinson, 86, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, April 6, 2026 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 am EST Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Robb Goodman officiating. A private interment will follow after the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am EST, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Robinson was born March 5, 1940 in LaGrange, GA, son of the late T. W. Robinson and Christine McDaniel Miller. He worked in the transportation industry for over 50 years with his last position being a Terminal Manager with Georgia Highway Express. Mr. Robinson was a collector of die cast cars, guns, pocket knives and western memorabilia. Although he had sold several items recently in his die cast car collection, he still had over 500 cars. Mr. Robinson also enjoyed traveling and golf. During his tenure in the transportation industry, he won several awards associated with the trucking rodeo through the National Truck Driving Championship. Mr. Robinson was a member of Summerville Baptist Church for over 40 years. Many of those years he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. Additionally, he was the Chairman of the golf tournament that supported Relay for Life through Summerville Baptist Church. Mr. Robinson also sang and traveled with the AMEN Choir.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Robinson and a son, Steve Robinson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy McElvey Robinson; a daughter, Cindy Massey and husband Steve; sons, Mark Atkins and wife Storie and Alan Atkins and wife Jinjer; a daughter-in-law, Becky Robinson; sisters-in-law, Patricia McDowell and Kay Winberg; grandchildren, Sarah Robinson, Katie Robinson, Reed Gibbs (Katy), Emily Webber (Joe) and Sophia Atkins; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Summerville Baptist Church, 3500 Summerville Road, Phenix City, AL 36867 or the AMEN Choir, 4011 Lakewood Dr. Phenix City, AL 36867.
