Charles Gould was born on March 14, 1941, in Columbus, Ga, to the late Charles Ellis Gould and Willie Mae Perry Gould. After high school, Charles got into the printing business. He started as a printer and by the time he retired after over 40 years with the company, he was in upper management at Hallmark in Columbus, Ga. Charles was a dedicated and hard-working man that prioritized doing what he needed to take care of his family. After retirement, he worked for Gibbon’s body shop, showing up every morning to get the heat going and lights on, and closing every day. He loved to be around people and always had kind words for everyone he crossed paths with no matter who they were. He had a high value on friendship and had a very large friend group that spent a lot of time together. They got together on Saturdays to watch college football, went on trips to the beach, hung out by the pool, and gathered at the hunting camp. He always had a smile on his face. Charles was a loving father who embraced being outdoors and when his sons were young, he loved to take them fishing. Charles also enjoyed bird hunting later in life. When he was going through cancer treatment, he was known as a ray of hope at the facility due to his optimism and enthusiasm to be blessed with another day. He was a loyal and caring man who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Lance Gould and wife Connie, Mark Gould and wife Kami, and Steve Gould and wife Sheri; sister, Becky Griswold; grandchildren, Keeley Gould, Makenzie Gould, Colton Gould, Blake Gould, Preslee Gould, Madison Gould, Jake Singleton, and Caroline Gould; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
