Mrs. Charlotte “Ginny” Gordon Blaxton

Charlotte “Ginny” Gordon Blaxton, 77, of Guntersville, AL died peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023 while at Marshall Medical Center in Guntersville, AL.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Norman Garrison officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Blaxton was born March 20, 1945 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Russell Jackson Gordon, Jr. and Thelma Brownell Yarbrough Vance.  She worked as a nurse at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, GA for over 15 years.  Mrs. Blaxton enjoyed crafts, sewing, painting, as well as the outdoors and shenanigans.  Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Clark Blaxton; sisters, Jeannie Gordon, Ruth Gordon, Joanie and Faye G. Rhodes; a brother, Bobby Joe Vance.

She is survived by three daughters, Gina Wangle of Smiths Station, AL, Elizabeth Madan of Dacula, GA and Nichole Alred and husband Alan of Guntersville, AL; a son, Paul Hill, II and wife Tina of Valley, AL; sisters, Peggy Cannon of Columbus, GA, Marilyn Stripling of Grove Town, GA, Elizabeth and Royce Ann Adkins and husband Bob of Seale, AL; a brother, Robert Vance and wife Sarah of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Daniel Duff, Justin Duff, Caleb Hill, Kenneth Hill, Benjamin Huff, Casey Sparks, Allison Alred, Travis King and Jennifer Bradley; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
