Craig Sterling Corcoran, 57, of Seale, AL passed away peacefully at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown, Columbus, GA on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Monday, April 20, 2026, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, Alabama with Bro. Michael Knowles and Rev. Todd Quintard officiating. Interment will follow at Seale United Methodist Church Cemetery, Seale, AL. The family will receive family and friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The family is requesting that you dress comfortably for the visitation and the funeral (Auburn orange and blue is always appreciated, but any comfy clothes will do – it’s how he would have wanted it).
Mr. Corcoran was born on November 15, 1968, in Ft. Benning, GA, son of Mike and Carolyn Sue Raines Corcoran. He was a Telecommunications Engineer for Leader Communications, Inc. on Ft. Benning, ensuring the communications were always up and running properly. He started his career as an electrician before entering the telecommunications field where he was known for always giving his all, body and soul. He was an Auburn Football and Atlanta Braves fan to the fullest. Craig enjoyed hosting and cooking for families, friends, neighbors, and on more than one occasion, complete strangers. He also loved playing practical jokes. It was nothing for him to pick at you or pull a joke on you as a way of showing his love and appreciation.
We will remember him as a man who lived out his faith in Christ daily both in public and private. He was honest, true to family and friends, giving (almost to a fault), gregarious, and happy. Craig was also an avid patriot and proud of our country. His dad, LTC (Ret) Mike, said, “I was proud to be his dad”. He was the true definition of a family man. We miss you dearly, but we know you are safe in Heaven.
Survivors other than his parents, Mike and Carolyn Corcoran, include his wife, Susan Gilmore Corcoran, Seale, AL; sons, Kaleb Corcoran (Jessica) of Fayetteville, NC, and Dalton Corcoran (McKinsey) of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Candace “Candi” Foster (Greg), Seale, AL, one brother, Corky Corcoran (Mary Kay), Phenix City, AL; one grandchild, Nathan Corcoran; in-laws, Jennifer and Jeff Mann, Glenn Gilmore; He also left numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the NATIONAL LEAGUE OF FAMILIES OF AMERICAN PRISONERS & MISSING IN SOUTHEAST ASIA at www.pow-miafamilies.org/
