David Allan Claytor

David Allan Claytor, 74, of Opelika, AL died at East Alabama Medical Center on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
A Service of Remembrance, with U. S. Army honors, will be held at 2:30 PM (EST) on Wednesday, February 02, 2022 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Claytor was born December 25, 1947 in Detroit, MI son of the late Charles Henri Claytor and Helen Faye Meredith Claytor. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Viet Nam. Mr. Claytor was an Auburn and NASCAR fan. He often spent game and race day with family and friends. Mr. Claytor enjoyed bowling and putting together model cars and planes. He and his wife, Linda attended St. Michaels Catholic Church in Opelika, AL. We will miss him in our daily routine, but he has left us with so many fond memories to cherish him.
Mr. Claytor was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charlie Claytor and mother-in-law, Marion Munson.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Munson Claytor, Opelika, AL; son, Patrick David Claytor, Opelika, AL; sister, Sharon Claytor, Ardmore, OK; brother, Paul Claytor (Gail), Marana, AZ; several nieces, nephews and friends.
