David Joseph Sanders

David Joseph Sanders, 45, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in Panama City, FL.  A private service will be held.  The family will receive friends Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Mr. Sanders was born August 3, 1971 in Columbus, GA to Virginia Hunt Sanders and the late James Sanders.  He worked in law enforcement and was a former police officer in Columbus.  He was also a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Inc., as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was a music enthusiast.  He also loved the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons.

Other than his father, Mr. Sanders is predeceased by his grandmother, Louise Hunt; uncles, Robert Hunt and Walter Odom; and his dog’s:  Jack, Spot, Buster and Poochie.

Other than his mother, Mr. Sanders is survived by an uncle, Phillip Hunt of Columbus, GA. 

David was a loving, caring and easy-going man who will be forever missed.

Flowers will be accepted or donations made be made as a memoriam in his honor to the Fraternal Order of Police, Inc., 8827 Heiferhorn Way, Columbus, GA 31904.
