Mr. David “Ted” Williams

Mr. David “Ted” Williams, 87, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, while surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST on Thursday, February 23, 2023, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Lugo officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams was born in Barbour County, Alabama, the son of the late David Johnson Williams and Nancy Deese Williams. “Ted” as he was known by his friends, worked most of his life as a front-end technician with Columbus Springs Service. In his spare time, Ted enjoyed painting and could paint artwork on just about any surface. He also enjoyed anything that would keep him outdoors to include camping, fishing and traveling to the mountains. His evenings were spent on the front porch in the swing with his loving wife Mae. Ted was a member of First Assembly of God Church for over twenty years. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by three sisters Christine Garner, Frances Ray and Agnes Mann; four brothers Wilburn “Buddy” Williams, Curt Williams, Dan Williams and Ray Williams.

Those left to cherish his memory is wife of sixty-eight years Mae Burnham Williams; daughters Jeannette Ray of Phenix City, AL and Virginia Williams (Doug) of Phenix City, AL; son Michael Williams (Tina) of Smiths Station, AL; sister Janice Brooks of Eufaula, AL; brother Douglas Williams (Virginia) of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren Christy Roble (Kevin), Crystal Starks and Shawn Williams; great grandchild Ashley Roble; special sister in love Carleen Williams and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
