Mrs. Delores Battles

Mrs. Delores Battles, 75, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at Piedmont Regional Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Friday, October 21, 2022 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating.  Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Battles was born September 5, 1947 in Columbus, GA, daughter of Lamerle Dempsey and the late Oscar Dempsey.  She worked as a beautician for over 50 years.  Mrs. Battles enjoyed watching Alabama football and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar Dempsey, Jr. and Clifford Dempsey.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Boyd Battles of Phenix City, AL;  two daughters, Angie Stone and husband Jeff of Phenix City, AL and Angel Battles of Phenix City, AL; sisters, Linda Posey of Phenix City, AL, Debra Linn and husband Dennis of Macon, GA and Judy Franklin and husband John of  NC; brother, Bobby Dempsey and wife Bonita of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Kaitlyn “KK”, Taylor, Bailey, Savannah, Emma, Abigail and Owen; great-grandchildren, Kameron and Kierra; several other extended family and other friends.
