Donald Ray Lloyd

Donald Ray Lloyd, 87, of Pine Mountain Valley, GA passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at Community Chapel, 1626 C Street, Pine Mountain Valley, GA, on Saturday, June 4, 2022 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ricky Lipp officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Community Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus.

Don was born on November 22, 1934 in Columbus, GA to the late Arthur Lloyd and Lucile Courtney Lloyd. He was a humble man with a big heart. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and listening to the Gaithers with his lovely wife, who he loved immensely. Throughout his life, Don worked hard to provide for his family. He was a dedicated husband and father and absolutely adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don and Iris were a vital part of their church family at Community Chapel. Together they served the Lord and created a legacy for their family to follow. While their lives here on earth have become a multitude of beautiful and cherished memories, their eternal lives in heaven with their Heavenly Father has just begun.

Other than his parents, Don is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years Iris Annette Lloyd; sister Vivian Walker; and brothers Wayne Loyd and Kenneth Loyd.

Survivors include his son Tim Lloyd (Tricia) of Columbus, GA; daughters Shirley Booth (Mike) of Columbus, GA, Donna Lloyd of Pine Mountain Valley, GA and Cathy Lewis (Mark) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren Jeremy Lloyd (April), Jarrod Lloyd (Leanne), Leighanne Young, Brad Booth (Tabatha), Don Booth (Lindsay), Donna Marie Holcomb and Klent Etheridge; and 12 great-grandchildren.
