Dorothy "Dot" Grimes

Dorothy McSwain “Dot” Grimes passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, in Memphis, TN. She was the widow of Ralph R. Grimes; they were life-long residents of Phenix City, Dot was preceded in death by her parents Novie Ray McSwain and her husband Curtis McSwain; one son Randy Grimes and daughter Judy Grimes Turner. She is survived by her son-in-law Louis Turner and three grandsons, Tripp Turner and wife Tamera, Brooks Turner and Bryan Turner and wife Amber. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Shea Trace Turner, Jacob Alexander Turner and Julia Elaine Turner; and many nieces and nephews.

Dot attended the University of Georgia in Columbus (off campus) and Auburn University. She was a teacher in the Phenix City School System for many years.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 3 until 4 with a memorial service beginning at 4:00. Rev. Steven Reneau will officiate. Interment will be at Lakeview Memory Garden.
