Dr. Dante Casis Naraval

Dr. Dante Casis Naraval, 81, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM EST on Saturday, December 17, 2022, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home located at 3738 US Highway 431 North Phenix City, AL, officiated by Rev. David Hamm, S.T. from St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM EST at the funeral home.

Dr. Naraval was born and raised in Bolinao, Pangasinan, in the Philippines, the son of the late Fernando Pecson Naraval and Consuelo Casis Naraval. After completing high school, Dante furthered his education at Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, where he obtained Bachelor’s degrees in Education and Business. He was later accepted into Manila Central University, where he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree.

Dr. Naraval traveled to the United States of America, where he completed his Internship at Franklin Square Hospital in Rossville, MD, and his Residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD, with medical rotations at Walter Reed Hospital and John Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Naraval was also a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology.

In 1977, Dr. Naraval relocated to Phenix City, AL, to begin his practice as a partner at Phenix City Radiology. Dr. Naraval supported Cobb Hospital, which became Phenix Regional Hospital until 1994. Dr. Naraval then joined Radiology Associates of Columbus, where he remained until his retirement in 2013.

When Dr. Naraval was not practicing medicine, he loved traveling and collecting vintage automobiles. Above all, his greatest love was his family and his community.

Dr. Naraval leaves behind his loving wife of fifty years Imelda Catabay Naraval; daughter Rosario Naraval Long and her husband, Jason, of Phenix City, AL; son Ferdinand Naraval of Phenix City; brother Dr. Rogelio Naraval and his wife, Dr. Josefina Naraval of Baldwin, Maryland; grandchildren Kyle Long and Emily Lowery and many other extended family members, professional associates and close friends.
