Dr. Donald Eugene Stowe

Dr. Donald Eugene Stowe, 72, of Crawford, AL passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from an auto accident in Evergreen, AL.
Dr. Stowe was born November 21, 1950, in Columbus, GA, son of the late Thomas Stowe and Ruth Hanie Stowe. He was honored to serve as Dr. Donald Stowe with Stowe Chiropractic Clinic in Phenix City, AL and Family Chiropractic Care in Monroeville, AL for a combined 40 years. A lifelong learner, he obtained doctorate degrees in both chiropractic and medical care, and never stopped researching ways to help people feel better. Always active, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and helping friends and family with various projects. He was a highly skilled craftsman in many areas such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical, with a passion for seeing projects completed, which he utilized to design, build, or renovate his own homes and offices and those of others. He also cared deeply for animals, including strays in need of help, and nutrition. A staunch patriot, he served our country honorably and was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Christian by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Terry and Douglas Stowe. He is survived by: his loving and devoted wife, Shirlene Spivey Stowe; daughters, Allison Stowe Kistler and husband John, and Lee Ann Whitaker; sons, Jamie Stowe and Justin Whitaker; sister, Joette McCullough and husband Henry; brother, Dink Hanie; six grandchildren, Victoria Stowe, Lucius Stowe, Matthew Winebrenner, Caden Kistler, Caitlyn Mefford, and James Mefford; four great-grandchildren, Owen Stowe, Oliver Stowe, Clementine Stowe, and Dante Long; several nieces and nephews; numerous loving extended family members, many caring friends, and thousands of grateful patients.
A private burial will take place at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery where he will always be remembered, honored, and loved.
