Mr. Varnadore was born, December 14, 1942, in Douglas, GA son of the late Roy Levi Varnadore and Mary Alice Barrentine Varnadore Morris. He was a proud U. S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam war and completing 14 years of service. Mr. Varnadore was always thankful for all the opportunities that his military career afforded him. After he left the U. S. Army, he eventually joined Civil Service at Ft. Benning retiring as a Supervisor in the Motor Pool after 40 plus years of service.
Mr. Earl loved the lake and fishing. He was well known for telling folks not to say his name out loud when fishing as the fish were afraid of him and his ability to catch them. Crappie were his specialty, and he was by far the “fish whisper”. He would fish from sun-up to sundown no matter the weather. Not only could he catch fish he could cook them too. He loved to host folks at his place and watch them enjoy themselves while there. His family and friends had to watch him closely as he was a famed jokester. One never know when he might surprise them.
We will remember him as a patriot, family man and a giving man. He was never boastful and always gracious.
Mr. Varnadore was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Varnadore Morris; step-father, Monroe Morris; five siblings, Jay Morris, Charles Morris, Jimmy Morris, Travis Morris and Delane Britt and his first wife, Peggy J. Buxton Varnadore.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ash Hogan, Eufaula, AL; daughter, Angela “Ann” Jean Trepanier (Charlie); siblings, Roy Varnadore, Jr., Helen Kruge, Henry Morris (Catherine), Thelma Monzyn (Joe), Carol Martin and Curtis Morrison; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
