Edward “Ed” Lee Partain Jr.

Edward “Ed” Lee Partain, Jr., 66, of Midland, GA passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Edgewood Baptist Church, 3564 Forrest Rd, Columbus, GA on Friday, January 13, 2023 beginning at 12:00 PM with Pastor Jonathan Merritt officiating. The interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 10:30 AM. Members of Ed’s Sunday School class at Edgewood Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Ed was born on February 29, 1956 in LaGrange, GA to Edward Lee Partain, Sr. and Barbara June Partain. He was well known throughout the community as the owner of Partain Marketing. Ed had a wonderful outgoing personality, never meeting a stranger. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus and Edgewood Baptist Church. Being outdoors was one of Ed’s favorite places to be. He enjoyed playing golf, working in the yard, and being around the firepit with family and friends. Ed was a dedicated family man who adored his wife and children. He has undoubtedly left a legacy for them to follow and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all whose lives he touched.

Ed is preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Lynn Partain and cousin Ty Pasley. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Janet Kilcrease Partain; daughter Catherine Partain and son Matthew Partain, both of Midland, GA; parents Edward Partain, Sr. and June Partain; sister Pam Gordon (Jeff) of Cataula, GA; cousins Sally Pasley of Auburn, AL, Donna Pasley Hill (Leon) of Fairhope, AL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill and Barbara Weatherford of Pine Mountain, GA and Phillip and Beth Kilcrease of Knoxville, TN; father-in-law Bobby L. Kilcrease of Phenix City, AL; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church.
