Era Lee Cantrell Bowers, 80, of Columbus, GA died at Limestone Nursing and Rehab in Athens, AL on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday, March 03, 2026, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bowers was born October 07, 1945, in Tallassee, AL daughter of the late Carl Warner Cantrell and Learline Orr Cantrell. She was a member of the Edgewood Methodist Church in Columbus, GA for many years. Mrs. Bowers had retired from the State GA as a Billing Coordinator.

Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Learline Cantrell and her husband, Police Officer James Neal Bowers who was tragically killed in the line of duty.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Bowers, Nashville, TN and sister, Eva Louverne Powell, (David), Berryville, VA; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
