Eulas was born on May 22, 1932, in Florence SC, the son of Wiley Lee and Mattie Lynch Lee. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War. Eulas worked as a plumber all his life, as plumbing was his passion. He applied his craft for Civil Service at Ft. Benning until his retirement. Eulas was a Christian and enjoyed good gospel singing. He attended Cornerstone Fellowship on 2nd Avenue where he loved their music program.
Eulas loved to watch old westerns and fish. He also loved to meet his friends for breakfast every morning at Burger King. He called it a club. Eulas owned a ’49 Ford, and he loved driving around town in his Model A. His ’55 Ford Coupe was once popular around town. Eulas enjoyed eating at Rosehill Seafood in Columbus and J.R.’s Steakhouse in Phenix City. His daughter Becky was his rock and she was by his side to the very end. He was her world and she dedicated her life to being there for him.
Here are some special thoughts from Eulas’ family…
“Lee” as he was called by his family and everyone close to him was a beloved father, grandpa, great-grandpa and brother. He was the strongest and toughest man we’ve ever known, and he always had a great story to tell. He worked his whole life, and he had a heart of gold. He was the best plumber we’ve ever seen. If he couldn’t fix it, no one could. He did it his way to the very end. Life will never be the same for us without him here. We just can’t imagine not seeing him and talking to him anymore, but we know he’s in Heaven now with our beautiful Nanny and Ronnie. We can see him driving around Heaven in a classic car made of gold. God has gained another beautiful Angel, and he will always be our Angel. As I, (Martha) often said to him, “You are my Angel, Grandpa.” I enjoyed our talks and gossip; you were so special to me. He was the best Father, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa to us. Thank you for helping us raise Darren to be the man he is now; you were and always will be the man he has always looked up to. I, (Becky) woke up this morning waiting for your call, and it broke my heart that you can’t call me anymore the same time every morning, I’ll miss you more than you’ll ever know my sweet daddy. We love you and we will miss you so much our dearest Lee.
