Evelyn “Eve” Hartley Perkins

Evelyn “Eve” Hartley Perkins, 93, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 22, 2022 with her family by her side.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. David Dollar officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Saturday.
Mrs. Perkins was born August 11, 1929 in Pike County, AL daughter of the late Ivy James “I.J.” Hartley and Selema Boutwell Bundy Hartley. She was a homemaker and member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mrs. Perkins taught teenagers in Sunday School at Whiterock Freewill Baptist many years ago. She loved to always be busy doing yard work, canning fresh fruits and vegetables, cooking and cutting grass. We will miss her and the fond memories we enjoyed creating with her. She had instilled in us a strong faith, hard work and family.
Mrs. Perkins was preceded in death by her parents, I.J. and Selema Hartley; her husband, Tommie Perkins, her siblings; a son, John Paul Stewart, Jr and a granddaughter, Aleisha Stuart.
Survivors include her three daughters, Virginia Gilbert, Linda Evelyn Martin (Fred) and Eloise Stewart; one son, Bobby Jack Stuart (Linda); one sister, Ruthie Jane Meeks; ten grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
