Evelyn Ruth Storey Hoopaugh

Evelyn Ruth Storey Hoopaugh, 97, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023, in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EDT on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Mike Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home in Phenix City.
Ms. Hoopaugh was born March 14, 1926, in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Willis “Willie” Storey and Nellie Ruth Hendricks Storey. She had worked in the Textile Industry, W T Grant Department Store, and for many years served as a cashier with Lee Drugs and was retired. She enjoyed food and fellowship, sight-seeing, gardening, and spending quality time with her family. She was a faithful and dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother who loved her family deeply. She was a Baptist by faith.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Hoopaugh, daughter, Mary Evelyn Bell, sister, Verna Dobbs, and a great-great granddaughter, Braylee Giglio.
She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Rumsey; one granddaughter, Kimberly Danco; two great granddaughters, Kimber Giglio, and Kaleigh Danco; a great-great granddaughter, Hope Giglio; a very special niece, Tina Tobin and husband Tim; several other nieces, nephews and extended family members.
