Gary William Fortune, Jr.

Gary William Fortune, Jr., 55, of Phenix City, Alabama was called home to the Lord on Monday, December 6, 2021.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Summerville Baptist Church, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. (EST) with Brother Robb Goodman officiating the service according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 AM (EST) at the church.

Mr. Fortune was born September 7, 1966. The son of Gary William Fortune, Sr. and Carol Zito Fortune. He is survived by his son, Justin Royce Fortune, (Bailey); granddaughter, Lily Taylor Fortune; daughter, Brittany Nicole Fortune; a sister, Shannon Fortune Hogan (Tim); a niece, nephews, and several other family members and friends.

Gary loved the outdoors and enjoyed time with his friends. He was a previous local business owner. He volunteered at his church and in his community. He was described as one of the kindest men they have ever met, and always had a smile on his face. He was a very proud father; the true love of his life was his granddaughter, Lily. They were best buddies and always together. We will miss him deeply, but he has left a lasting impression on our lives that we will cherish forever.
