Mr. Melancon was born January 28, 1947, in Breaux Bridge, LA , son of the late Eno Antoine Melancon and Lula Vincent Melancon. He was a U. S. Navy veteran proudly serving our country during the Vietnam war. He was a diesel mechanic for Ryder Trucks for many years. A job he was good at too.

He enjoyed putting together model aircraft, cars and trains. One of his favorite pieces was the Star Ship Enterprise as he was also a big Sci-Fi fan. He was also an accomplished painter. Reading was a favorite pastime too. LSU football was a passion. He enjoyed sharing gameday fun with family and friends. Gauthier also loved his red GMC Sierra truck. Wolves were his favorite animal. He enjoyed learning about them and sharing his knowledge with others about them.

We will remember him as a “Lone Wolf”, however he was everyone’s favorite uncle. He always made time to be with us and share his wisdom. Gauthier was never too busy to stop and help anyone who needed his assistance. As his favorite music was the Blues, we will always smile and remember him when we hear a Blues song played or sang. Thank you for all of the time you gave us so freely.
