Gladys W. Slusher

Gladys W. Slusher, 80, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, April 07, 2017 at The Medical Center in Columbus, GA.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Saturday, April 15, 2017 beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST.  The interment will conclude the service at Evergreen Memorial Park, 4400 St. Mary’s Road, Columbus, GA.  The family will receive friends Friday, April 14, 2017 at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Mrs. Slusher was born October 10, 1936 in Junction City, GA to Mr. Franklin Wright and Ms. Lizzie Ree McDaniel Wright.  She was a homemaker.  She was a kind, caring mother, grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend to everyone. 

Other than her parents, Mrs. Slusher is predeceased by two brothers, Jessie Wright and Larry Wright.

Survivors include a daughter, Marie Burkett of Columbus, GA, a sister, Christine Ruben (Joe) of Phenix City, AL; two brothers:  C.J. Wright and Frank Wright, both of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren:  Phillip McLendon and wife, Rose, Chad Johnson, Kenzie Johnson and Lily Burkett, all of Columbus, GA; and three great grandchildren:  Ashton McLendon, Lindsey McLendon and Ryan McLendon.
