Gregory Allen Blackston

Gregory Allen Blackston, 64, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on May 3, 2026. A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, Al 36867, on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm EDT. A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, Al, on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm EDT.

Greg Blackston was born on January 30, 1962, to the late M. Bernard Blackston and Carolyn Norris Blackston. After graduating high school, Greg worked as an electrician until medically retiring. In his free time, he loved to go to thrift stores and antique malls to find things to repurpose. He enjoyed fishing and especially loved Alabama football. Greg looked forward to getting together with his friends to watch the game. He enjoyed working in the yard and tinkering around his home. Greg was quick to help others, especially family. Greg had a genuine heart of service and was compassionate and caring. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents, M. Bernard Blackston and Carolyn Norris Blackston. He is survived by his sisters, Cathy Crowson and husband David, Sonya “Sam” Bishop and husband Jared, and Alicia Gayler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and beloved friends.
