Harold C. Ryals

Harold C. Ryals, age 84, resident of Fort Mitchell, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama with Reverend Ralph Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, December 10, 2021.
Mr. Ryals, son of the late Fred Ryals and Clyde M. Bradshaw Ryals, was born May 3, 1937, in Barbour County, Alabama. He served in the U.S. military, serving his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Ryals was retired from APAC Construction where he worked as a Heavy Machine Operator for several years. He was a man who enjoyed sports, especially Auburn football and the Atlanta Braves. Years back, Mr. Ryals enjoyed quail hunting, breeding and raising bird-hunting dogs, fishing, horseback riding and traveling to many places in his RV. He enjoyed watching classic western movies and sporting events on television. The family remembers him as loving father and grandfather, someone who never met a stranger, loved people, and was always active.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryce Davis, and two fur-babies: his Poodles, Junior and Sophie, who he loved dearly.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Kang “Judy” Segrest; two daughters, Sharon Spurlock of Fort Mitchell, Alabama and Pam Davis and her husband Kenneth, also of Fort Mitchell; one son, Dwayne Ryals and his wife Teresa of Fort Mitchell; one brother, Eugene Ryals of Ochlocknee, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Leianna Evenson and her husband Erik, Laura Ryals, Sabrina Ford and her husband Jessie, Amanda Watford and her husband Johnny, Dillon Spurlock and his wife Marissa, Niki Harris and her husband John, and Trevor Davis and his wife Chandler; five great-grandchildren, Hayden, Layla, Ava, Davis, and Jenson; and many other relatives and friends.
