Harold Roy Greer

Harold Roy Greer, 84, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Newnan, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev Robb Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Crawford Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Eugene Ogletree, Rusty Ogletree, Skeet Adams, Brad Adams, Jamie Adams, and Lynn cook.
Mr. Greer was born June 12, 1939, in Chattahoochee County, GA, son of the late Roy Henry Greer and Emily Kemp Greer. Harold graduated from Jordan High School in Columbus, GA in 1957. He attended the first class of Columbus College in 1958 and he also was honored to attend Auburn University before venturing out to start his own business. He was the owner/operator of G & M Auto Parts for 40 years and served as a school bus driver for the Lee County School System with 23 years of faithful service. He also had the opportunity to drive hotshot rigs for Acme Truck Lines where he cherished the scenery and beauty across our great country. He was a car owner and sponsor for dirt track racing and was a huge fan of NASCAR.
He is survived by his sweet bride of 61 years, Mary Ogletree Greer; daughter, Sheryl Burgy; son-in-law; Buddy Burgy; son, Harold Roy “Bubba” Greer, Jr., all of Phenix City, AL; sister, Elizabeth Kay Greer of Columbus, GA; brother, Johnny P. Greer of Columbus, GA; one precious granddaughter, Mary Makayla Burgy of Phenix City; sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Melton (Huff); nieces and nephews, Skeet Adams (Jackie), Eugene Ogletree, Rusty Ogletree (Kara), Janet Gresham (Jernigan), Barbara Birge, Kay McCollum (Dennis), Allen Custer; several great nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, extended family, Lee County bus driver friends, Sunday morning breakfast crew and many caring friends.
