Horace C. White

(Ret) SFC Horace C. White, 86, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, December 16, 2016 at his home.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 10:30 am EST Monday, December 19, 2016 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Arrangements are provided by Vance Memorial Chapel.

Mr. White was born January 4, 1930 in Hamlin, TX to the late Horace F. White and Hattie Fowler White. He proudly served in the US Army and retired with over 20 years of active duty. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Dankesreiter; granddaughter, Jessica White and three brothers, R.B. Howard and Billy.

He is survived by his children, Richard C. White, James L. White and Brenda W. Thorton and husband Keith; two sisters, Louise and Gene; grandchildren, Jeremy White and Heather, Jennifer Lynn Lowery and David, Brooke Wilson and Billy and Kendal Thorton; great-grandchildren, Paige and Addison White, Matthew, Adam, Andrew, Luke, Jake, Eli and Ella Grace Lowery and Denton and Laton Wilson; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
