Hugh Lynn Blakey

Hugh Lynn Blakey, 60, of Salem, AL died at Piedmont Regional Midtown, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. David Dollar officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Pallbearers will be Donald Parsons, James Blakey, Justin and Blake Blankenship, Camron Simons and James Price. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM (EST) on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Blakey was born September 25, 1961 in Phenix City, AL son of the late James Blakey and Janeece Kennedy Blakey. He had retired from the Lee County School Board where he was the School Bus Supervisor for many years. Mr. Lynn was an avid Auburn Football fan who loved game days and the excitement surrounding them. He was also an excellent carpenter who could build just about anything. Mr. Lynn often shared this talent and his creative abilities with family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother and friend.
Mr. Blakey was preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings, Charlotte Thompson and Steve Blakey.
Survivors include his four children, Courtney Tanner (Jason), Amanda Stephens (Matthew), James Blakey (Shelby) and Kimberly Parsons (Donald); six siblings, Michele Blakey, Laura Gooden (Mike), Donita Price (Jimmy), Dawn Blankenship (Randy), Norman Blakey (Linda) and Alan Blakey; longtime companion, Alesia Holland; nine grandchildren, Camron, Miley, Jules, Madison, Jeremiah, Emaleigh, Maliyah, Conner and Laken; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
