Hugh William “Billy” Vann, III, 71, of Hurtsboro, AL passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 16, 2025, in the comfort of his home.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 pm CST / 3:00 pm EST on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Chaplain James Smith officiating. A private place of rest will take place by his loving family at his home in Hurtsboro where he will always be cherished, loved, and never forgotten. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 31, 2025 one hour prior to his memorial service at the funeral home in Phenix City.
Billy was born October 14, 1953, in Union Springs, AL, son of the late Hugh William Vann, Jr. and Joanne Rowe Vann. He served our country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a local rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service where he worked for many loyal years. He had a gift of music and enjoyed playing the bass guitar. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and the serenity of all the property that surrounded his home in Hurtsboro. He was a Christian by faith.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie Vann, and Bobby Vann.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving and devoted wife, Connye Dawson Vann of Hurtsboro, AL; daughter, Chelsey Vann of Greenville, AL; son, Roy Epperson and partner, Preston, of Greenville, AL; brother, David Vann and wife Tammie of Tifton, GA; two precious grandchildren, Anderson Garner, and Mason Garner; sisters-in-law, Cindy Jeanes and husband Doyle, Bonnye Bodiford and husband Bert, and Kim Sims; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other loving family members, and many caring friends.
