James B. Humphries

James B. Humphries, 79, of Columbus, GA passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown.

James was born on March 27, 1943 in Milledgeville, GA to the late Ernest Humphries and Alice Wagner Humphries. He was a proud and devoted alumnus of the University of Georgia, where he earned his Master’s Degree. His desire to make a difference in people’s lives was always evident in his work. James began his career as Director of Activity Therapy at the Bradley Center, then relocated to West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus. He finished his career as Director of Activity Therapy at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville. James was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

James is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 46 years Maureen Humphries; son Jim Humphries (Vickie) of Milledgeville, GA; and grandchildren James Vernon Humphries and Brandon Wayne Humphries.
