James Hobbs

James Hobbs, 90, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family, in Phenix City, AL.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Lakeview Memory Gardens Phenix City, Alabama with Reverend Cecil Scott officiating.
James was born on February 15, 1931, in Mitchell, GA, the son of the late Pete and Becky Hobbs. He worked for Asplundh Tree Service for many years. James was hard working and good provider for his family. He loved his family and passed on his work ethics to his sons. James will always be remembered for his loving spirit, and his sense of humor,

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Elkins; son, Richard Hobbs; his first wife and mother of his children, Frankie Hobbs, and his second loving wife, Shirley Hobbs.

He is survived by three sons, James Hobbs, Jr., Jimmie Lee (Wanda) Hobbs, and Jimmie (Marlene) Hobbs; sister, Cornelia Whittaker; four daughters, Kathy Godwin, Mary (Frankie) Brown, Sherril (Charley) Frank, Robbie (John) Anderson, Tammy (Billy) Waltman; 27 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as several extended family and caring friends.
