James “Jimmy” G. Hall, Jr. was born on January 29, 1953. The son of James G. Hall, Sr. and Margaret Oliver Hall, Jimmy was raised in Columbus, GA and had lived on Lake Harding in Harris County for over thirty years.
Jimmy owned the Kick-N-Chicken Party Line, until his recent retirement, and had extensive commercial and residential real estate holdings throughout Columbus. He loved life and was happiest solving the problems of the world in the office at his store; spending time with his family – especially Meghan and Cecelia – and his friends at “The River;” and watching football – particularly Auburn football. He also thoroughly enjoyed sharing a good meal and a good cocktail with the people he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dawn Ray Hall. He is survived by his daughter, Meghan Horton (Marc) and granddaughters, Cecelia and Harper Horton. He is also survived by his sister Judy Hinton (Rodney); his nephew, Ricky Carpenter (Cam and Charleigh); his aunt, Betty Tapley and many cousins, who were very special to him.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 12, 2021 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA.
