James "Jimmy" D. Glass

James “Jimmy” D. Glass, 75, of Phenix City, AL passed away late Friday evening, February 23, 2024 at Piedmont Hospital-Northside in Columbus, GA with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EST on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Lawanda Worthington officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Phenix City.  Serving as pallbearers are Destin Johnson, Jeffrey Womack, Michael Clark, Mark Jordan, Daniel Jung, Tyler Redmond, and Michael Zheng.

Mr. Glass was born June 15, 1948, in Standing Rock, AL, son of the late James D. Glass, Sr. and Queenie Elizabeth Johnson Glass.   Before his disability, Mr. Glass worked with Fieldcrest Mills in Columbus, GA for 22 dedicated years, serving a perfect attendance.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the outdoors, Find N Seek puzzles, loved visiting the Waffle House, and rolling with the Alabama Crimson Tide.  He attended Faith Temple Assembly of God Church in Phenix City and was a Christian by faith.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; an infant brother, Billy Wayne Glass, and Mathews Eugene Glass.

He is survived by the love of his life since age 12, wife, Norma Jean Stringfellow Glass; one daughter, Michele Glass Johnson (Kelly); son, Eddie Glass (Shawn); sister-in-law, Gracie Carrico; seven grandchildren, Lauren Glass Womack (Jeffrey), Shannon Wright (Janson), Destin Johnson, Diamond Johnson Clark (Michael), Mikayla Johnson, Maegan Johnson, and Morgan Johnson; nine great-grandchildren, James, Connor, Nevaeh, Brooklyn, Landon, Lucas, Lawson, Sam, and Lillian; a very special niece, Jill Jordan (Mark); numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring family members.
