Mr. Shores was born in Albany, GA on July 26, 1955, son of the late Robert “Sonny” Shores and Marie Bridges Shores. He worked in the HVAC industry for over 30 years and retired from Carrier as a Southeast Georgia Service Supervisor. He was a proud member of the UA Local Union 72 Plumbers, Pipefitters and HVACR Technicians. Ted enjoyed fishing, model trains, sweet tea and was a wizard at using computers. He had a huge passion for Case knives and was an avid collector. Most of all, he cherished his family.
In 2007, he suffered a heart attack and was without oxygen for a period of time. Doctors said he would never have brain activity again, but God had other plans. He woke up and lived another 18 years with extreme short term memory loss. He often said “When I wake up in the morning the adventure starts”!
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a child, Christy Williams, a sister, Cynthia Henderson and a niece, Sunni Hutto.
Mr. Shores is survived by the love of his life for 46 years, Pamala Berklite Shores; his children, Jennifer Page (Kyle), Michael Berklite (Crystal), Richard Berklite (Tricia) and James Shores, Jr.; grandchildren, Cason Page, Trae Williams, Natalea Williams, Urijah Berklite, Brynleigh Berklite, Anthony Berklite, Lexi Berklite and Tyler Smith; a brother, Micky Shores (Kim); several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Epworth Methodist Church, P.O. Box 430, Phenix City, AL 36768.
