James William Paulk

James William Paulk, 86, of Columbus, GA passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, December 7, 2018 beginning at 1:00 p.m. (EST) with Reverend Larry Taylor officiating.  The interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday, December 7, 2018 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. (EST).

James was born on March 28, 1932 in Coleman, GA to the late Lamar and Johnnie Paulk.  He retired from Fieldcrest Mills in Columbus with forty-five years of service and attended Cascade Hills Church.  Fishing was one of his favorite things to do, but as a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, James most of all loved spending time with his family.  

Other than his parents, James is preceded in death by a son, Terry James Paulk.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Rosa Ellen Paulk; sons, Earnest Paulk and wife, Shirley, Donnie Paulk and wife Sandra; sister, Bernice Seegar and husband, Don; grandchildren, Shane Paulk, Renee Ziglar, Karen Emerson, Lori Abbott; great-grandchildren, Kayla Halstead, Allie Halstead, Paxton Ziglar, Brittany Ziglar, Cody Kirkland, Chase Abbott, A1C Devin Emerson and wife, Macaila, Cason Emerson; great-great-grandchild, Mailee Emerson.
