Mrs. Jean Gould Harbuck

Mrs. Jean Gould Harbuck of Salem, AL departed this earth for her home in heaven on Monday, April 25, 2022 with her loving husband by her side.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. (EST) Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Grant Parker officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. (EST), one hour before the service, at the funeral home.

Jean was born December 23, 1942 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Walter Gould and Forrest McKinney Gould.  She was a graduate of Smiths Station High School and Chattahoochee Valley Community College.  Jean was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and a marvelous grandmother.  She enjoyed long walks, boating, biking, reading and traveling, throughout the country and abroad.  Jean always saw and appreciated the best in others and loved to socialize.  Her grace and sweet disposition made her life long friends, wherever she went.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, O’Neil Gould.

Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her loving husband of 60 years, Don Harbuck of Salem, AL; two daughters, Katherine Williams of Smiths Station, AL and Gayle Porter (Jonathan) of Greenville, GA; a son, Don Harbuck, Jr. (Jessica) of Columbus, GA; a sister, Janice Helms (Don) of Columbus, GA; grandsons, Scott Porter and Micah Williams; granddaughters, Abby Porter and River Harbuck; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
