Joanne Ketchum Young

Joanne Ketchum Young, 70, of Phenix City, AL formerly of Atlanta, GA, died peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2023 while at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Reverend Andrew Spires officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Young was born August 21, 1952 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late James Robert Ketchum and Ouida Owens Ketchum. She was a 1970 graduate of Central High School, Phenix City, AL. After graduating, she studied to be a paralegal. Mrs. Young then moved to Atlanta, GA and worked as an independent contractor for numerous law firms in the Atlanta area as a paralegal.  She was a loving sister, the youngest of three girls, and was loved by everyone who knew her. We will forever cherish all the fond memories we have made with her.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert Ketchum and Ouida Owens Ketchum and her husband, John Rogers Young.

Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly Young Taylor; two sisters, Rhonda Keeter (Ronnie) and Charlene Keeter, Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Gwenivere, Curtis James “CJ”, Zoey and Freya; four nieces and one nephew, Jerri Lynne Keyt (Billy), Chad Keeter, Paige Spires (Andrew), Jennifer Keeter, and Jamie Karastury (Jon); cousins, other family members and friends.
