Johanna Elizabeth Lyons

Johanna Elizabeth Noetzel Lyons, 95, of Phenix City, AL died at while in the care of Lower Cape Fear Life Care Hospice in Wilmington, NC on Sunday, March 08, 2026.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Ft. Mitchell, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Lyons was born March 23, 1930, in Danzig, Germany daughter of the late August Noetzel and Elisabeth Reczeski Noetzel. She was a homemaker and loved caring for her family. Her family, especially the “grands and great grands” were her world! Mrs. Lyons did, however, enjoy playing Bingo on a regular basis.

Mrs. Lyons was preceded in death by her parents, August and Elisabeth Noetzel; her husband of 64 years, SFC (Ret) Harry C. Lyons, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Elaine Diane Lyons and a granddaughter, Lacey E. Peardon.

Survivors include her five children, Harry C. Lyons (Judy), Steven R. Lyons, Ronnie J. Lyons (Kathy) and Richard W. Lyons and Shirley J. Nelson (Tracy); twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; several other family members and friends.
