John Timothy King, Sr., 76, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, July 14, 2024, in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 pm EDT on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Dr. David Kees officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EDT prior to his memorial service at Vance Brooks Funeral Home 3738 Hwy 431 North / 280 West Phenix City, AL 36867. He will be laid to rest in a very special place of remembrance by his loving family.
Mr. King was born November 17, 1947, in Pittsview, AL, son of the late Albert King and Lila Hammett King of Cottonton, Alabama. He served our country honorably and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was the co-founder/owner/operator of the highly successful Inco Services. He enjoyed family, hard work, fellowship, Alabama football games, his cabin in the North Georgia mountains and the simplicity of life. He was a godly man of strong Christian faith and a member of Johns Creek Baptist Church in the Johns Creek community. For anyone who ever knew him, John King was the epitome of “lead by example.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an older sister, Hedy King, and a younger brother, Jeffery King.
Left to cherish his memories is loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Peggy S. Brown King of Cumming, GA; two sons, Shane King and wife Ginny of Cumming, GA, and Eric King and wife Jennifer of Smyrna, GA; two sisters, Sandra Miller and husband Randall of Plant City, FL, and Naomi Elliott and husband Mike of Phenix City, AL; three brothers, Daniel King and wife Joanne of Orlando, FL, David King and wife Linda of Phenix City, AL, and Phillip King and wife Carolyn of Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, John Timothy King, III, Laney King, Wade King, and Jaxon King; brothers and sisters-in-law, Barbara Brown, Jimmy and Shelby Brown, Bobby and Marlene Brown, Shirley McCrary, Gene and Dot Kolstad, Dickie and Marilyn Brown, Linda Moody, and Floyd and Marilyn Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to a church, your favorite charity, or plant a memorial tree in memory of Mr. John Timothy King, Sr.
